Stroll around the colourful encampment on the Castle Green and enter a medieval world - a world of sword fighting, archery, field and table games and soldier’s drills. There is authentic costumes and armour to try on and archery techniques to hone, this event is definitely one for the summer holidays calendar.

• Celebrate the long Bank Holiday at the end of the summer in Cardiff Bay with a feast of nautical entertainment for all the family. It’s all “Fish and Ships” again this year with spectacular aerial and water displays, Tall ships, sea craft displays, sea shanty singers, walkabout entertainers, a continental market plus a superb music- line-up. For the second year the festival hosts the British Fish Craft Championships which includes filleting displays, tips on preparing and cooking as well as selling the best quality fresh fish. plus the ‘Welsh Oyster Opening Championships’.
