“We believe that all can succeed”

Thank you for taking an interest in our school. We have much to be proud of and believe that whilst there is always scope for improvement, that we offer excellent opportunities for the young people and the communities which we serve.

We are a mixed comprehensive school of approaching 1700 pupils, including around 300 students in the Sixth Form. We serve a number of communities in the north of Cardiff, including Llanishen, Heath, Thornhill and Lisvane. Most of our pupils come from our partner primary schools; Cefn Onn, Coed Glas, Llanishen Fach, Llysfaen, Thornhill and Ton Yr Ywen. Part of our intake comes to the school as the result of parental appeals. Most of our year groups are usually over-subscribed.

We fully support the current Welsh educational model of not having to choose to be a specialist school in one specific field. Our hope is to strive for excellence in all areas of both the timetabled curriculum and everything else that a school can provide.

We are determined to continually work towards the five Educational Goals that are highlighted on the front page of this website. We hope that this website can make some contribution towards those goals; helping with learning and therefore success, sharing achievements and keeping you informed. The site has made a lot of progress, but there is always more to do and limited time to do it in! Nevertheless we would always welcome any helpful comments about the content or presentation.
